The wounded warrior project fosters the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history. There purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members.They also help injured service members aid and assist each other and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

SOMO BEADS
SOMO exits to provide a livable wage to women and support educational endeavors in Gulu, Uganda.SOMObeads are handcrafted bead necklaces made from recycled paper by the women in uganda. All profits made from the beads goes to sending the children in Gulu, Uganda to school and to also build a school in Gulu, Uganda.


Expedition Balance
Expedition Balance is committed to helping combat veterans who return home with emotional trauma regain their lives. It starts with a week in the woods and ends with veterans reconnected to their families, friends and futures. The goal of Expedition Balance is to help fellow American combat veterans suffering from PTSD and other “invisible” injuries regain their balance in life. They do this by offering life-affirming non-clinical experiences with their peers, where they can experience and learn principles and practices that will help them regain their lives.
Bel Inizio
Bel Inizio, meaning Beautiful Beginning, helps disadvantaged women develop self-confidence and life skills through fitness and nutrition. Participants train to complete a 5K, which helps prepare them for the ultimate race — the race for a better life. Bel Inizio teams train to complete a 5K, and in the process see healthy behaviors in action and are offered tools to help them succeed once they are out on their own. Bel Inizio shows each woman that they matter.
Girls Inc. Houston
The mission of Girls Incorporated of Greater Houston is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. They strive to effectively meet the needs of girls in their communities, develop girls’ capacity to be self-sufficient, responsible members of the community, help girls overcome the effects of discrimination, and serve as a vigorous advocate for girls, focusing on girls’ special needs. The vision of Girls Incorporated® is to be recognized as the premier nationwide organization that helps all girls realize their potential and exercise their rights.

Home Aid
HomeAid Houston identifies long term, stable homeless care providers who need additional capacity and pairs them with GHBA builders, vendors and suppliers who donate their time, materials and labor to help build transitional homeless shelters. Additionally, HomeAid Houston serves as a housing developer and liaison between homeless care providers, the community at large, volunteers, residential builders, remodelers and developers and their suppliers and vendors.
Houston Area Women’s Center
The Houston Area Women’s Center helps individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence in their efforts to move their lives forward. They provide shelter, counseling and advocacy to support the individuals in building lives free from the effects of violence. They seek social change to end domestic and sexual violence through community awareness and education.
Lucky Dog Rescue
Lucky Dog Rescue, Inc. is a non profit animal welfare organization dedicated to providing rescue services, vet care, foster care and adoptive placement to stray and abandoned dogs. A great match for each pet and adoptive family is important to them. Their goal is to find permanent, loving homes for the pets in their care. Lucky Dog Rescue focuses their rescue efforts on BARCH (the City of Houston Animal Shelter) and on supporting individuals who find dogs and are willing to foster them until adoption.
Africa Yoga Project
Happy Belly Studios made a commitment to support The Africa Yoga Project (www.africayogaproject.org) that works with vulnerable populations in East Africa by using the transformative power of yoga to change lives and empower communities. Our core group of students are between the ages of 16-30 and live on under $2/day. Many are personally affected by HIV/AIDS and are living, or have once lived, on the streets. Through commitments of active service, such as yours, Africa Yoga Project is able to deliver effective and innovative programs that foster peace, improve self-sufficiency, and create opportunities to learn and contribute across East Africa. Our Ambassador Program allows you to experience, first hand, the work of Africa Yoga Project, while at the same time giving you the opportunity to contribute and connect on a very personal level.
