Michele Stamos – Owner
At a very young age I was unknowingly committed to a life of physical fitness. I have always been fascinated with the human body—its anatomy, its kinesiology, and its movement patterns. I moved to Houston in 1998 was able to begin my practice in the two disciplines by taking classes from others. In 2001, I began working towards my certifications in yoga. My first education with yoga came from Robert Boustany in Hatha yoga in 2008. After years of teaching and finding my own method and style I sought further education with John Friend (Anusara yoga) and as of late, Baron Baptiste (power Vinyasa yoga). I continue to grow in my own personal development every day, and love seeing what the two disciplines (Yoga and Pilates) bring to my students. I opened the studio in February of 2011 to bring my love of both physical movement principles to everyone, young and old. I continue to be inspired every day, and am empowered by the students who come to my studio as I see positive and powerful changes in each of them.
Danielle Martin – Studio Manager
My name is Danielle; I am a college student at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Psychology and Nursing. I am a good hearted person who lives by the principle “treat others as you would treat yourself.” I try hard to treat everyone with respect and leave them with a good impression of me. I have been working at Happy Belly Studios since March 2011. I would have never thought that I would be working at a Yoga and Pilates studio, but now that I am working here, I can say I LOVE MY JOB!!!!! I love the energy and the atmosphere of Happy Belly Studios. I love the classes and I love all my co-workers. Usually it is hard to find a job that you love to come to everyday and I can honestly say that there is never a day that I am not excited to be at work.
Allannie Barao
Fitness and health is Allannie’s passion. She is an aspiring personal trainer and dietician, thirsty for knowledge. Allannie currently works at the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA as part of the Healthy Living staff and is studying to become a personal trainer by the end of July 2013. Working with great mentors in the field of fitness has really opened her eyes to how healthy living leads to a happy life. Her goal is to give people practical information to live a healthy lifestyle and to establish discipline to make their goals attainable. Outside of working and working out, Allannie is a sports fanatic and enjoys winding down at the end of the night with some SportsCenter on ESPN and cooking on her rest days.
Auggie – Mascot
This incredible doggie is the mascot of Happy Belly Studios and best friend of studio owner, Michele Stamos. Believe it or not, Auggie is 15 years old but is as spry as any puppy would be! Everyone at the studio loves him and when he hangs out at the studio, he gets extra love and attention from all the ladies. Auggie likes to sit in front of the door and watch everyone in their down dogs, and sometimes even participates in his own down dog too! He has a smile on his face at all times – representing a lighthearted approach to life and a playful attitude that we should all adopt.
